Hi I can stream via my router no problem... I want to know if I can't stream away from home I.e if I was at work or 200 miles away from home but view the content off my box..??
Depends wat ur upload/download speeds are really. They need to be high, in particUlar the upload speed. I had 50mb down/5mb up with virgin and stream outside home was ok, bit of glitches but nothing too bad. Now im on 100mb down/10mb up and streaming SD channels is pretty much perfect outside the house when connected to wifi and 3g

What app are you using, I use AndroidDreamer and set up a VPN and use a VLC server , see link below, but I also have a 8 Mb/s upload which probably helps.Originally Posted by can7

i tested Dreamdroid & AndroidDreamer with both i can search bouqets on my wireless and watch tv its when i switch to 3g i cant connect.
May be a silly question, but do you have a static ip set up to use ?, if you do its dead easy to set up a VPN and you only need to forward one port in your router
and use either daroon player or vplayer avalible from the market
Daroon player I find works a bit better, I havent used my Vplayer since the free trial expired lol, have you set up a VPN or do you use HTTP mode ?
i use http mode , just a side not ive tried using daroon on my rooted moto xoom tablet ice cream sandwich and fails to work everytime so ive had to go back to honeycomb 3.2

ive also succesfully setup using DreamStreamoidhd and bought the pro version but all info is in german from herethats the vlc configuration page which shows you which ip and port to forward , as stated its in german but basicallu set it up as is apart from your vu duo port web guiCode:http://dreampro.zey.de/en/vlcinternet.html
port 4321*vu port external to 80 internal vu duo ip tcp
port 554 external 1234 internal point to pc running vlc also tcp
port 4212 external 8080 internal point to pc running vlc also tcp
Password protection must be activated in VLC!
Therefore, you have to create a file .access in each directory of the web interface. It must contain username and password like: vuduo:vuduo or whatever u like
vlc can be found at C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\http depending on what os your using so u need to copy the .access file uve edited in notepad into all dirs in vlc http folder
the base configs can be copied direct from the website there easy enough to follow, if you do try this make sure uve undoen the port options for androidreamer
on another side not i do find the epg and the optiuon to view ure own picons is great

I have seen a few posts about DreamStreamoid, is it much better than AndroidDreamer ??
dreamstreamoid is very good as you can see an epg and also your picons twin tuner support on the non tablet version , set recordings up, but androidreamer is just easy to use and setup and hopefully the paid version with have all the benefits of dreamstreamoid when it gets released

Just downloaded DreamStreamoid, (couldnt wait if it shows epg and picons), but cant get it to find them on my phone lol, need to play a bit more. I will see if I can connect using my VPN
