    Ultimo vs duo??

Hi Does anyone know the difference between the two boxes and is the difference worth the extra money?

I think there is an extra tuner but what benefit does that have?

    There are lots of differences...

ULTIMO has newer procesor, more memory, newer tuners (I think). But, the tuners are plug n play, and also have a loop through. Also, there is possibility of having 3 tuners. This means that you can have 3 feeds in to the box (enigma2 allows 4, so you can also plug a usb tuner in as well ). This allows you to watch / record more channels all at the same time. Also, the tuners have dvbs2 (hd satellite) and dvb-t/c (terrestrial and cable), so you have more flexibility... Finally, the remote on the ultimo looks to be the dogs danglies, and it also comes with a wifi adapter included which will definitely work, so no need to worry whether yours will work (if you don't have a wired lan connection). Finally, the ultimo has a nice looking vfd ... better than the ones on duo/et9k

As for cost, only you can decide whether it's worth it for you...

    Thank you for the reply.

When you say the tuner has terrestrial and cable, what does this mean.

    thank you.

Never having had one, I can't say with 100% certainty, but I assume it means you can use it for either terrestrial tv (i.e. from a standard roof aerial), or for cable television (such as virgin media)...

Exactly: the Ultimo is absolutely the better one, but do you need it/want to pay it? And of course the DUO still is an excellent box.

btw: you forgot to mention the large OLED.

    thank you.

i have virgin media also and this would be useful as i have had to use my virgin box for terrestrial channels when the weather was really bad there due to the picture being un-watchable with the wind
