    1080p output & playback

    Hi all

Not sure if someone else shares the same concern, the box does not output @ 1080p despite it says support 1080p in the description.

    Video resolution: CCIR 601 (720x576 lines), 576p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p@30

The maximum output resolution is 1080i or 720p.

When I tried to play 1080p content, the image is pixlated, and lots of blocks. Doesn't have this problem when playing on my TV (DLNA) or computer. Very big problem when it's 3D video, as it causes headaches.

Thought just wanted to raise this in case it's an issue for potential buyers.

Thats the spec they released the unit under, so the driver's must not support 1080p yet by the looks of it. 3D broadcast should be able to be viewed just fine.

silverfox you misunderstood me. I agree the box plays 3D well, SKY 3D, 720p mkv files etc. All very good and smooth.

The problem rises when play a 1080p file, the box seems have problem rendering the frames properly. So showing small colour blocks every where especially at fast moving scenes, causing left & right sight vision to be different. This causes headaches. The likely cause would be the processing power, but i'm not sure.

The file can be played perfectly smooth on PC and TV. So it's not the problem with the source.

Also would love to watch 1080p content from the box, but currently that's not possible.

On the other hand the box is excellent choice for Sat HD and file play. Never regretted picking up.

ive noticed some issues with 1080p, never with 720p but i know the box isnt really meant to play movies off my NAS or HDD as its mainly a sat receiver so i just have a dedicated media player for that use.
