Hi everyone. I have a few problems on the latest pli versus 1.3 image. My network interface disables itself every other reboot and streaming via XBMC (tuxbox) doesn't work anymore. Are these know issues?

Can someone also tell me if there is an option to disable background scanning? I used dreamset to rename my channels but they soon returned to the satellite provided names.

    Thanks so much

It is not wise to disable backgroundscanning, as no changes will be made at all. In DeramSet (& most other editors) you can set the channel to "untouched by STB", so the name will be fixed.

Anyone else having issues with the network interface and tuxbox client?

    Thanks

Almost every morning my Vu+ is on when I wake up. As an attempt in solving the issue, or at least find out what may be causeing the problem, I changed the settings for Cross EPG. It was set to do dowload EPG at 04:00, but I changed this to 13:00. Now my box is in standby every morning, but turned on when I get home from work. I guess that it is something caused by the EPG download... Any good advice?

Firstly, thanks to Andy for all of the extra button options in the latest releases.

What I meant was that in VIX 2.1 it behaved the following way:

    • + or - brings up the channel list of the current bouquet and then alternates between bouquets with each press

    • Arrow up or Arrow down - brings up the channel list of the current bouquet and then moves up or down a selection at a time

    • Tv button - brings up the channel list of the current bouquet

    • OK button - Brings up the info bar and on second button press pip and epg summary

I can't get 2.2 to do it this way "+ or - brings up the channel list of the current bouquet and then alternates between bouquets with each press".

It's no big deal, but I thought I'd report back what I meant.

Not to worry, a reload of the latest firmware addressed my issues. I'm finally happy with this new Pli based image

Thanks to all the developers and testers

No a complete new flash is where you download the image and flash if from a USB stick etc.

Online updates is just like windows updates. You dont lose any files or setiings. It just updates uur system with bug fixs etc etc

Thanks for the reply. So I can do a online update to the latest image and all other settings will remain the same ?
I just did a tm600 online and that all seems to work fine after it.

that depends on what image you currently have. if you have ViX 2.2 and you want to go to ViX 2.3 back every thing up using the inbuilt image and backup managers, then do a fresh flash to 2.3 as online updates will only take you to the latest 2.2 build if currently on 2.2.

rite i was mid game MW3 so my post was a bit brief so here is a bit more information.

going on the topic of the image versions as different versions of windows as mentioned by punisher, yes you can do online updates to take you to the very latest version within that particular build. but if you want to load 2.3 you must perform a full reflash as there are so many differences between this and previous images you will end up with a lot of problems. now you can use the inbuilt backup and image managers to backup your box as it is now and return to that state if you wish but to load 2.3 you need to download the image and do a reflash. there is no other option.
