Belkin to rival EchoStar Slingbox

Accessories giant Belkin will introduce its own place-shifting device, called @TV in July, and in direct competition to EchoStar’s Sling Media range of products. @TV will retail in the USA at $149.
Belkin says it will also supply a $12.99 iPhone/iPad and Android ‘App’ that allows Smart-phone users to watch live and recorded programming from a set-top box, including cable and satellite boxes, provided the home is linked to broadband, WiFi or 3G/4G.
“Americans have long had a love affair with TV, and now they are increasingly demanding the ability to access their TV content wherever and whenever they want. It’s no longer enough to record content to watch later,” said Jamie Elgie, senior director of product management at Belkin. “With @TV you aren’t limited to certain channels, and you have full access to both recorded content and live TV, so it’s easy to watch the game in the backyard or your favorite movie at the dentist.”

Lookin forward to some competition against slingbox, been using the solo and the pro hd at work and they pretty nice but i love belkin :-p so hopefully suma goodfrom em

It's a pitty the monsoon media vulcano boxes dont have much of a market in europe / uk as from all accounts on the Aussie forums they beat the slingboxes hands down.
