Question Can't use DVB-C Tuners, am I missing something ?

    Hello

sorry in advance for basic question, but i'm no expert. First Vu+ receiver...

So i bought the Duo² with two DVB-C/T tuners. With the help of somebody with a little more experience in Vu+ receivers than me i tried to install the required files on my Duo², but in the end we didn't managed to make it work.

And now i just saw this thread: http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...-dvb-T-problem

So i'm wondering if my issue is an issue that need to be fixed ? Can anybody confirm that ? I can provide more information (regarding my cable provider and/or my virtual image used and/or anything else...) if needed. Just ask

Thanks for your help. Spent yesterday tring to make it work without any luck...

Sorry in advance if i posted in wrong forum and/or if i broke any rule.

Image & build being used would be a start to trying to figure out the issue.
Also, if you enable debug logs, they might help.
Have you tried BH as mentioned in that thread? does it work then?

The thing is i almost tried all images available... ViX, OpenPLi, BH, VTi, tried the official image too. All the latest. Some olders too, like first OpenPLi, because latest was really buggy.
I didn't enable debug logs. (not sure what it means as i didn't get any bug)

Images works. it's just that i at some point i can't select the option i need to select to continue the installation of my cable channel lists.
It didn't work with BH too, if i remember. I'll try again tomorrow to be sure.

To be more specific, the step where i'm stuck (sorry it's in french):

    captur13.jpg

I can't select "Opérateur". But only "Frequency bands" or "Frequency steps"
Hope it answer more or less your questions.

    2 DVB-C should not be a problem. I have the same Duo2 with 2 DVB-C tuners.
First of all choose the right image. I use VIX (of course ).
Probably you have to key in the search frequency of your provider, the correct QAM en symbolrate. (I had to do this).
This way it must find all the channels of your provider.
When the search has finished, you will be surprised that the list has no channel number (I did!!).
This evening, when I am at home, I will look step by step how to achieve this (when this does not help you).

I am using DVB-C from day one on my Duo2 and OpenViX. There must be something wrong with search parameters.

Ok, i'm back. First thing i will make a fresh install of ViX. And i'll come back right after that.

Thanks for the offer, Peterj. Hope to hear from you, with your help (and other's) i should have better chances to make it work.

@parma, i'm in France. Cable provider is called Numericable.

Just so you know, the person i mentioned in my op gave me 2 files that are normally needed to work with the Duo (and any other Vu receiver, i think) i can provide them, if needed to help you guys help me

The 2 files are named :

    cables.xml
    terrestrial.xml

We tried to ftp them in var/tuxbox among others locations...

Also, sorry for my poor english !

    Thanks

Those files really shouldn't be needed; a scan should have done the trick.

Yes, it's weird. I just tried without changing anything on the original vix image and i could choose "Provider" in Service type. After modifying the xml files, i couldn't...

    Will try to scan, now.

If this doesn't work, try manual scan.
    Here attached screenshots (in French).
    first check configure tuner (1 + 2 + 3.jpg)
Tuner A + B should be active. pick A and press OK.
Choose what you want to scan. ID Réseau is not that important. (networknr of your provider) (5.jpg)
    Save it with green.
    Go to manual scan (6.jpg)
Pick the first tuner and fill in the correct Fréquence (in my case 234000KHz), the Fréq.Symbole (mostly 6875) and Modulation. (7.jpg)
OK for save and green for scan.
    Good luck.

I think i found a way to succeed ! 10% 74 channels found ! Hope screen isn't all black in the end after the scan like it's always been every time i did automatic scans...

Good news ! Finally found some channels, even channels i didn't have before (not sure). But a lot are missing too, badly. Almost all HD channels are black...

    Any suggestion ?

But that is about DVB-T. I know it's the same tuner, but I don't know if it's the same issue.

Try manual scan. Select in tuner configuration all EU bands and all QAM modulation types.
