    TM800 trade in for TM-TWIN-0E

Going to trade my 800 in for the new TM-TWIN-OE instead of buying a VU+ BOX, good move or not?

Yes but the spec on the new box is the best of any, it would wipe the floor if the support is upto scratch. I think I will take a gamble like i did with the 800

How would the spec of the TM-Twin wipe the floor of any?? Please explain? What exactly does it have over the Duo, ET9200 or the Ultimo?

I would never buy TM again after the rubbish 800hd worst stb I ever bought. and that includes the spiderbox 7000 which is far superior and it's not even a Linux box.

For the specs that i saw it has 2GB Nandflash and 3GB DDR3 Ram, Unsure if anything else is different from the Duo i would imagine to beat the ET and Ultimo it would have to be running the latest Broadcom 7413 chipset which is in those 2, But as i say from what i have read it has the older 7335 chipset same as duo. So apart from a massive increase in Flash & Ram not much different.

The biggest problem with TM is the severe lack of 3rd party support from any of the big image teams for there linux boxes

having the best hardware is only half of the story without proper image support from dev teams the box is next to useless

good luck if you buy one

Read the spec's correctly! Its NOT GB as in GIGABYTE, GIGABIT. One gigabit = 128mb, so the Twin actually has 256mb Flash and 384mb Ram. The Duo has 128mb flash and 384mb ram, so in effect all it really has is a bit more flash.

Duo has rear Esata, Twin hasn't
Twin has loopthrou on one tuner Duo hasn't
Duo has two CA & two CI
Twin has one CA & two CI, but added RF modulator.

Its swings and roundabouts, Twin has loses some things from the Duo but has other features.

It could have 50GB of ram but it wont be any good to anyone if the image support is shite. Two years on and TM800 only has the IQ team and DW support other than that no major team has released an image which imho is a big drawback.

If there is no support for the Twin than it will follow the same fate.,
