    Winter Hill (Preston Area)

Hi this is my 1st post on the forum so please be tolerant if I am making mistakes.

    My Tiviar Alpha+ has 3 tuners 2xDVB-S and 1xDVB-V/T/T2

I have managed to sort ABM for SKY FTA but when I scan Freeview Winter Hill, I get missing and incorrect channels.

I get Liverpool TV but should have Thats Lancashire, channel 4 is missing.

I deleted all bouquets and providers and did a manual scan on DVB-T/T2 only and attached is the terrestrial_Custom_transponder.xml file.

it appears that Winter Hill transmits 3 different local channels, North (Thats Lancashire), West (Liverpool TV), South (Thats Manchester)
I just want to be able to scan with ABM and get the correct channels any help to do this would be gratefully received.

    Thanks
    Warren

We need to update the instructions, so apologies for asking you to repeat this again.

Make a setting backup you can restore afterwards
Can you stop E2 from running, using "init 4" command.
    Delete lamedb files in /etc/enigma2/
    Install Terrestrial scan plugin
    Run Terretsrail scan plugin
    Restart GUI/E2
Check the services are working (not through bouquets). To do this: Channel Up, Green (satellites/extended), Terrestrial Services
If all are working fine, upload the lamedb files again please.

Also, Winterhill details were provided by someone else and no issues have been reported. Are you sure your mast is Winterhill and not a nearby one?

You can restore your settings backup to get back to square one.

Thanks for the reply, yes definitely Winter Hill (I am less than 9 miles from the mast),
I have done as requested and attached are the 2 lamedb files

Many thanks for your assistance, I am struggling with this.

Does this mean Winter Hill transmits 3 different local multiplexes?

    As a complete NOOB you're asking a question I don't understand, sorry

My problem is that when select Freeview area to Winter Hill and scan with ABM, I get Made in Liverpool channel but should be That's Lancashire and some channels don't work,
but if i manually scan then select Channel Up, Green (satellites/extended), Terrestrial Services, all the correct channels are there.

How do I get ABM to show the correct channels for my area?
I cannot work this out and need step by step instructions please

    Thanks
    Warren

Looks like it. Winter Hill has Bay TV Liverpool, That's Manchester and That's Lancaster. All 3 of these broadcast on channel 7 going by ukfree.tv.

All 3 of those are on the same frequency (754 MHz). That means they must be transmitted off directional aerials. So this is not going to be easy because we really need the data from all 3 zones.

@wasp, don't worry if you are a "noob", if you are not sure about anything just ask. What channels was it that didn't work after the ABM scan?

Also, switch on debug logs, and in ABM switch on extra debug. More details here. https://www.world-of-satellite.com/s...port-questions

In each case that you test, do the following:
Before the scan, send "init 4", delete lamedb, send "init 3".
After the scan, save the debug log and the lamedb together in a zip file with a descriptive name and post back in the thread. This will save us getting in a muddle with your data.

First test is to get us a debug log and lamedb using the standard ABM scan settings for Winter Hill.

Second test, using the attached provider file do a scan of Winter Hill 2. Post the debug and the lamedb.

So what happens with the SI tables on each zone? Is it only 754 MHz that is regional? And are the SI tables on this frequency regional too? If not how do we deal with this?

Ive done as requested but still getting Liverpool tv, but should be That's Lancashire in ABM freeview all channels bouquet.
if I press Channel Up, Green (satellites/extended), Terrestrial Services Thats Lancashire is there, its just not placing the correct one in ABM bouquet.

Attached are the files as requested,
Big thanks to every one for there help so far,
Would it be possible to have Winter Hill with 3 selections for the "petals" LraiZer describes?

    Thanks

You are not using OpenViX. The debug log is unreadable and you don't have "extra debug" turned on in ABM config.

The only way we are going to be able to solve this is if you use OpenViX and extra debug. If you are using OpenATV the full debug is not saved in the log.

Sorry I didn't realise that I had to be using OpenVix, my choice of skin is no longer supported on Vix and thought ABM works on all E2 images,
but I will reflash and resend all details correctly this time

Also in ABM you have Sky UK enabled. We only want data from the terrestrial scan.

Yes, ABM works in many images but some images don't allow dubug lines greater than a certain length, making it impossible to properly debug problems when using those images.
