will we hopefully be getting this on vix? dont like using backup images.
Lets hope someone is listening & we will get a nice surprise in the upcoming image
just 1 problem with ffmpeg i cant fix atm.
oe-a ffmpeg is newer than the one required for kodi, i believe the kodi-ffmpeg is modded for kodi.
Vu Ultimo4K, OpenViX 5.0, 8xdvb-c, 8xdvb-s2, 2xdvb-t2
Vu Solo4K, OpenViX 5.0, 8xdvb-s2
Dreambox DM900, OpenViX 5.0, 2xdvb-s2, 2xdvb-c/t2
Terrestrial, Cable, Fixed 28.2e + Unicable2 LNB
Thanks for looking into this.
I'm using the backup image and unable to find kodi-ffmpeg as a package name (or any obvious names close to that).
Even using "find", I was unable to find a filename matching *ffmpeg*.
What is the actual filename?
Is there anything I can do to help?

Open a telnet session then enter this.
tel.pngCode:opkg list *ffmpeg*
I had already tried that but with list-installed as wouldn't it be installed on my box now as I'm using kodi 15.2.
"list" is just what's available from feeds, whereas "list-installed" is what's installed and therefore needed. If I can use Kodi 15.2 and this ffmpeg package isn't installed then it can't be needed!
That make sense?
If I remember correctly (& that can be difficult at my age )Rossi was concerned at the diifferent versions of ffmpeg installed depending on whether it was a normal Vu+ build or one that builds in the Kodi support and trying to find a way around it without messing up normal image builds using the oe-a
Gigablue Quad 4K & UE 4K
.........FBC Tuners:
------------------> GT-Sat unicable LNB to 1.5M dish(28.2E)
------------------> Gigablue unicable LNB to 80 cm dish(19.2E)
.......................> FBC & DVB-S2X into 90cm dish (27.5W) Opticum robust Unicable LNB
AX HD61, Edision Osmio 4K+, Zgemma H9Combo, Octagon SF8008 , gbtrio4k, h9se using unicable ports
Zgemma H9 C/S into Giga4K
my concern about ffmpeg may be wrong, might not be needed at all
i will test tonight
Vu Ultimo4K, OpenViX 5.0, 8xdvb-c, 8xdvb-s2, 2xdvb-t2
Vu Solo4K, OpenViX 5.0, 8xdvb-s2
Dreambox DM900, OpenViX 5.0, 2xdvb-s2, 2xdvb-c/t2
Terrestrial, Cable, Fixed 28.2e + Unicable2 LNB
I didn't intend to sound funny.
I was just trying to say that I'm using the modified image backup with kodi 15.2 and ffmpeg package is not classed as being installed on my image and Kodi 15.2 is working as does, as far as I can tell, the image itself. Therefore, I don't think it's needed otherwise I would have found it when I initially did opkg list-installed *ffmpeg*. It's only listed in "list" which just lists package available to install (but may not be installed)
I don't think it's needed Rossi, as you can see from above it's not listed as being installed in my modified image (although it is available to be installed).

I have just got my Vu+ Solo2 up and running, with OpenVix 3.2.037 installed.
I also have an Amazon TV Fire Stick running Kodi and it would be great if I can get rid of this and run Kodi on the Vu.
From reading through this thread then it sounds like this is not possible with the build I have and I shall keep an eye on this thread for news of when that might change.
Please correct me if I am wrong and it can be done now
