I added the timer via the epg on my client box. I tried adding a new timer and this time the error on the server read: write error -disk full?

Look at your screenshot: the location is the local HDD (so the HDD of the client). As that box has no HDD (if I remember well), this must be either flash or an USB-stick.
Make sure that location is the HDD of the server.
