I have used two usb flash drives, a sandisk 256mb and another sandisk 16gb (this bought yesterday). Saves data ok but cant get the VU+ Duo to read data from either on startup.
I am using a Freecom 4Gig all good

Sorry Sic. I just saw this post now as I haven't come back here ever since I made this post. I don't think its the one. Mine looks smaller without the key ring and its blue in colour. I have not tried it for flashing but it works at the back of my box for picons and flash back-ups etc without probes.

I am using an Imation Nano 1GB USB stick. I have set up a 64MB Swap File on it. It is showing in Device Manager as mapped to /media/usb.
I was previously trying a 2GB non-branded USB stick. I used it to flash the Duo, but it would not map in Device Manager. Creating a 64MB Swap File took about 15mins to complete, whereas on the Imation it took about 5 seconds.
I used an old bni MP3 Player 128mb. Works A Treat !!! ,Just use it as a data storage device ,
