    Openvix-3.0.808 - Transcoding BUG

    Hi everyone,

I think I might have found a bug in the new ViX release 3.0.808 for my box (VU+ DUO2). I have the 2 dual tuner setup (quad tuner in total).

After this last update the transcoding feature has been broken. I can no longer transcode to my Android Smartphone using VU+ Player. If I select for it to stream (not transcode) I can see the feed, however if select transcoding, it just gives me an error saying that it is still an experimental feature and that it is not working at the moment.

I was coming from release 736 if my memory serves me well, and the transcoding was working perfectly.

I also tried to stream to a PC using the stream.m3u, and only the uncompressed / raw stream would work. Transcoded stream would give almost an immediate error.

Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Sorry for the new post, however edit was not available any more.

Correction: I think I was coming from image either 753 or 766 (as I have flashed it last time in October).

Transcoding is working to some degree in upcoming OpenViX 4.0... It is close but not ready for release just yet.
    OpenVix:
    VU+Duo2 -- 2 x Twin internal DVB-S2 & DVB-C/T2, 2 x USB dual DVB-T (Avermedia Twinstar [AF9035], Hauppauge Nova-TD [Dib0700]) = 8 tuners
    VU+Duo4kse -- internal Sat FBC & twin DVB-C/T2, 2 x USB dual DVB-T Hauppauge Nova-TD [Dib0700]

I'm not in a position to talk about it, apart from acknowledging the problem with 3.0.808 and indicating that it is being addressed in future builds.

You wont really notice any difference with the GUI over ViX 3.0. It's the OE core ( build environment ) that has undergone a radical update, it is no longer based on pli but a OE-Alliance creation. Our enigma2 is still loosely pli based but only loosely.

No, 808 is still the latest public release, all newer builds are for testing so far.

Thank you very much for the information regarding the transcoding issue in my linux box.

I will be patiently waiting for the upcoming release and quietly praying for the transcoding feature to work properly, or at least as well as it did before I updated to 808 release.

    Hello All,

Any news on the box update? Streaming is still not working (build 808..) and nothing new since last december.
Any issue date of the next version?

    Thanks a lot
    regards
    Juan

I have been reading all the transcoding threads with interest as I am on 3.0 808 and wanting to transcode to my HTC One (M8) while i'm out. My upload speed is terrible (0.3mbps on a good day) so streaming without transcoding is simply not working. Am I right to assume that transcoding is not and will never be working under 808 and I will have to reflash to helios once it is working under that? Is hardware transcoding working yet on the Vu+Duo2 under Helios as that is the only reason I have thus far to upgrade.

No updates have been made on 3-808 for months, nor will they ever be made.
Transcoding in Zeus & Helios works fine.
