Technomate TM 5402 - Single Tuner?

    Hi all,

I have been looking at purchasing a TM 5402 from the sponsor and I've been doing a fair bit of research on the forum + google.

The only thing that puzzles me is the 'record three channels to external optional hard-drive and watch another channel from the same transponder' line.

I thought you would need a twin tuner for this?

I'm only really interested in watching channels from a certain UK provider and I'm guessing these would be on the same transponder?

Could someone please shed some light on this issue?

    My only requirement is:

PVR (watch one channel, record at least one other at the same time)

If you can do this with single tuners then it opens up my choices a bit as my budget is only around £150.

I would really appreciate any help on this subject.

    Thanks.

The three channels need to be on the same transpondor, if they are on different TP you will not be able to watch or record them.

If your after a watch one and record another setup, than a single tuner is not the solution to this, you are very unlikely to encounter popular channels on the same TP for example BBC 1 and its regional variations are spread across several TP as are the SKY range, your better off geting a twin tuner box.
