Ok - so you're using it as a bridge/repeater, rather than an Access Point. If it was an Access Point it would have a hard-wired connection back to your router. I still think you have a misconfiguration in the Edimax which is not compatible with the router. Check carefully the IP settings on both.

I tried adding PurE2 image to the multi-boot and that works fine with the same setup, so must be something to do with the way OpenVix obtains the feeds?
