    Depends on the error correction on the transponder. Could be anything from 4dB to 12dB required for usable signal.

    Simple answer is tweak the dish for max snr. And if that is not enough you need a bigger dish.

    that video (and others) show that the BER value doesn't seem to drop below 1 bit in 1,000,000,000 (1.0e-9)
