    Yes, you can use a universal/regular LNB with an FBC tuner.

    A universal LNB switches between high, low, vertical and horizontal. So there are limitations. I got to about 30 channels.

    Bear in mind that even with a Vu Solo which has one tuner, more than 10 years old, you can record several channels so long as you are on the same transponder.

    A Terrestrial tuner will have fewer limitations as almost all the HD services are on one frequency.
