Use an older image and without logs your report is useless.

How do I provide logs if the receiver won't boot?

The issue is with all OpenViX 5.3 versions.

I'm would imagine that someone would have reported this problem in the past 8 months since 5.3 was released.

Is it something to do with the new recovery menu?

I thought I'd bricked my SF4008 some time ago and the WoS support team sent me this recovery file.
It sorted it for me anyway.

You should check how to install - this is a normal requirement for the sf4008 from the year dot and most people flash online with ViX ImageManager - much simpler

This update was required for all images from February 2018, nothing to do with the ViX Team.

I know how to install, since other images work, OpenViX doesn't.

@a19a Until 3 weeks ago I used the SF4008 with the latest vix at the time with no problems whatsoever. I only changed the SF4008 because the remote control also controlled my Formuler Z8 and vice a versa , very annoying. Clearly you have problems,it may pay to explore other avenues than just vix. Good luck.
