I would re-flash. Do not install ANY extra plugins. Leave as free to air only. Set up new, DO NOT restore any backups.

Directly after completing the first install wizard initialise the HDD plugged into the SATA slot. Once its initialised press blue button > ViX > Mount manager. Check its mounted to media/hdd.

Run as free to air with nothing extra for at least 48 hours to test.

If you want to shut down at night, do not simply power off. Long press standby button on remote and put it into deep standby.

To looks like the HDD may be the issue if you're getting that straight after a clean flash.

Not sure what this means/or is relevant, but found this on another site....

After reflashing the recovery firmware only (bootparameters?) it is working as intended. (The sata drive.)

yes i am having a similar problem with my zgem h9 twins, infact i have one box with open atv (which i find is slower) and one with open vix latest that came from yourselves. openvix will not initialise any drive, stops me recording and thats the same as open atv. it would be nice to have my 6tb drive on or even 4tb.
    this is send me nuts.
one person told me it might be firmware problem but any help would be grateful. this is the second h9 twin box which does not quiet do what i ask it to do. mine with atv on it would not flash anything but whoosh

Mine was only a 500Gb drive. the only solution was an external USB enclosure

I am thinking of buying Zgemma H9 Twin to connected twin cables to the dish to replaced my faulty Humax Foxsat Recorder. Does this Zgemma H9 Twin have twin tuners so I can recorded two channels at the same time just like Humax? I am consider buying it for freesat channels. What is the max storage for this H9 eg: 500GB , 1TB or 2TB HDD?

See here for Zgemma H9 Twin. Great box! The 2.5” Sata HDD can be no thicker than 7mm, which is stated on the link page below.

Also yes, lets you record one & watch another just like a Sky HD box etc.

I have recently purchased the H9 twin and the Octagon sf8008 and the octagon is a little bit faster but both great boxes for their prices.
