The type of screening and dielectric may also be important factorsThe cable type should be printed on the jacket at intervals. If it's thicker it may not bend as easily to attach to dish arm/LNB etc. It needs to carry LNB IF (1000 - 2500MHz) without too much attenuation. Also needs to be 75ohm type - some commercial (and amateur radio) cable is matched for 50ohm. I'm just pointing out what may be downsides to otherwise free/cheap cable
