    F-plugs for thicker cable

I have some thick co-axial cable. The outside diameter of the cable is 7.3mm. The outside diameter of the di-electric insulation is 5mm.

Where can I get f-plugs that fit?

    Thanks in advance.

Best I can come up with is a company in Austria...

    Code:
    https://www.conrad.com/p/f-plug-waterproof-cable-diameter-73-mm-1399009
Delivery is £6, but there must be better options somewhere.

What's the cable type abu? The norm for satellite cable is CT100 or WF100 or TX100 - all are nominally 7mm (6.8mm) OD. These guys
    Code:
    http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page7.htm#fconn
supply different variations in F-plugs, but if your cable is 7.3mm then maybe it's only suitable for crimp-on or soldered connectors?

Not sure of the type, but it is some from a commercial/industrial CCTV installation. If it comes to it, I'll solder.

The cable type should be printed on the jacket at intervals. If it's thicker it may not bend as easily to attach to dish arm/LNB etc. It needs to carry LNB IF (1000 - 2500MHz) without too much attenuation. Also needs to be 75ohm type - some commercial (and amateur radio) cable is matched for 50ohm. I'm just pointing out what may be downsides to otherwise free/cheap cable

Probably CT125 or WF125 type cable usually used for very long runs as the losses are lower

Plenty of crimp type connectors on Ebay but requires the correct crimp tool.

    Google for "WF125 F connector"

    Try Mazon for twist on

A few twist on WF125 connectors on Ebay

The type of screening and dielectric may also be important factors

Old article so prices are out of date.
