What filesystem is it in? You may need to install exfat or NTFS drivers

You can update to latest ViX, but I don't think that will help. If exfat or NTFS, you will still need to install the drivers after you flash
Does it show up in storage devices?
Is HDD detected if connected to PC?
yes i formatted the drive NTFS before i fitted it to the box interestingly it wouldn't initialize unitl i connected it via USB then it was ok
ive installed exfat and ntfs from the drivers section and it does show up

Unless you are going to attach to PC, best to have it in ext filesystem. You can format (initialise) it using receiver.
when its connected via sata it only gets to 88% then fails but when its connected via usb it works fine
going to update just in case theres been a fix?

Connect the HDD to a PC, delete all the partitions in Administrative tools > Computer management > Storage. If it still does not re-initialise re-flash the receiver, then once you complete setup wizard re-initialise the HDD.
