Ok I've done a lot of testing playing back 4K Media files using native E2 movie player, no external players or plugins. Movies stored on a Synology NAS drive on Gigabit network.
VU+ Uno 4k SE:
Plays all files smooth, number jump buttons DO NOT work, crashes E2 if pressed. 4K Media files up to 50,000kbps bitrate anything above this bitrate can stutter.
ZGemma H7:
Plays all files smooth, number jump buttons work 4K Media files up to 50,000kbps bitrate anything above this bitrate can stutter.
VU+ Ultimo 4K:
Plays all files smooth, number jump buttons DO NOT work, crashes E2 if pressed. 4K Media files up to 60,000kbps bitrate anything above this bitrate can stutter in scenes where bitrate peaks.
Best performing receiver for 4K media playback is the Zgemma H9:
Plays all files smooth, number jump buttons work 4K Media files up to 83,000kbps bitrate anything above this bitrate can stutter. Only movie that stuttered slightly during peak scenes was Lucy, bitrate of 85353kbps, this will be down to the 10/100 Ethernet port as I'm streaming from NAS.

Not sure if this is totally relevant to this thread , I have a zgemma 7s and have encountered a playback issue.
I downloaded yesterday a couple of foreign films via the eplayer plug in on latest vix image ( films were downloaded to a 128gb usb3 stick connected to usb3 blue port)
When playing files via the "media" icon on eplayer plug in, video starts stuttering and audio gets out a sinc within a couple of minutes .
Funnily enough, these two files play nice and smooth when attached to usb 2 port on my android kodi box.
I am at work now ,but just thought that maybe should have tried to play back files on usb port 2 of zgemma box, so will update later on.
I got a lot of stuttering when trying to play this file

I don't know exactly what coding or how heavy the file is but it struggled. Another member from Linux forums also stated he couldn't get the h7 to play this smoothly.
That should playback fine, sounds more like an issue with the encoding. I've downloaded that episode and the remux I've got is 42286kbps, watching it now with zero issues, yours is only 25500kbps.

Yes so maybe a good test would be to try play using that and see if works. Which files play well which don't. Then we know it's completely incompatible etc
I am pretty sure issue is with media player within e2iplayer. Downloaded another movie and still getting stuttering but files play back fine when using own receiver media player via the "list" button on remote.
I am not getting complaining, still think this is a wonderful 4k receiver for the money, picture quality is as good as my other vu+ zero which cost twice as much.
