    PCTV 290e

For some reason PCTV 290e T2 USB-stick refuses to operate in Uno 4K SE with dvb-usb-em28xx (1.0-r0) drivers. Image is ViX 5.2 025.
    Main tuner is FBC-S
In VTi 14.1 image it works. It has em28xx 1:4.20-r1.8-vti05 ready installed.
    Is ViX driver too old?

I've got an OptiCombo DVB-C stick that works fine on some receivers but not on my Vu+ Uno 4K or Octagon SF8008, all running ViX 5.2.024.
Not sure where the problem lies though.

    Does it use em28xx driver?

Just the opticombo driver in ViX feeds. I can't be more precise because I'm at work.
I know some people are also having problems with Sundtek tuners so may be a general usb tuner issue rather than a specific driver.

Problem with Sundtek is maybe a bit different. Markus from Sundtek visited my Ultimo 4K because of this problem and promised new Sundtek Controlcenter, but haven`t seen it yet. Something to do with limited buffersize in new VU+ drivers causing that.

Run dmesg on the box and post the output.

That looks as though you've tried to execute every line of dmesg output?

However, I've stripped out all of the cruft. There is no sign of it seeing the device on the USB bus.
There is this, but it could just be that 2 of the 6 usb controllers are disabled...it does find your external disk (but the disk needs fsck run on it...):

    [ 1.332618] hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found
[ 1.336405] hub 1-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn't have any ports! (err -19)
    [ 1.365812] hub 2-0:1.0: USB hub found
[ 1.336405] hub 1-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn't have any ports! (err -19)'
    [ 1.369592] hub 2-0:1.0: 2 ports detected
Is the tuner directly connected, or connected using a hub?

It might be simpler to unplug the tuner, reboot the box, login and run dmesg, plug in the tuner then run dmesg again to see whether anything is appended when you plug it in.

Here dmesg.txt is without Kingston usb-stick and with pctv 290e.
dmesgsundtek.txt is with Sundtek usb-tuner and Kingston usb-stick with picons and epg.

That one shows the PCTV 290e being found.
Did it show up as a working tuner?
