Vu+ Duo2 Freezing every few hours

    Hello,

I recently bought a new Vu+ Duo2 but it keeps freezing. currently running V5.0 002 but tried 3 previous versions.
A 256mb swap file has been enabled, and epg storage location set to hard drive.

The frustrating thing is the Vu+ Duo I have works perfectly with the same configuration.

    Any Ideas ?

You definitely don't need a swap file. Are you running a softcam?

You definitely don't need a swap file. Looks like a softcam issue.

    Ok will disable swap.

Tried mgcamd and Cccam V2.3.0 softcams with same result.

Picture freezes, sound continues, remote control inoperative and loose ethernet communication with box

Power cycle is the only way to recover.

Could be a bad config file.

Is there anyway to reload config file or recreate?

I have loaded OpenVix 4.2, 5 multiple times but same issue.

I decided to post here. I have the exact same problem for a few weeks now. I think box (duo2) is slowly dying (probably some capacitor problem), what happened to your box? I also have dead LAN and HDMI ports

Dead hdmi ports can be from inserting or removing cables while powered on box and tv,both need to be off.
Vu duo had cap issue and dont think duo 2 has.

What is slowly dying and where is epg getting stored

Yea, guys I am not from yesterday
Dead ports are from lightning strikes during the summer. Actually this is the 2nd dead HDMI port, first one was repaired by warranty. I am using RGB cable now. As for freezing, it started recently and its not the image. I also do not use HDD. Fan is also working at the back.
There is a thread on VTi forum for the same issue. I guess its a "common" problem with Duo2. Kinda disappointing, my 2nd Vu+ box now with problems (Duo1 was first one).

Here is also 2nd thread about this on this forum: https://www.world-of-satellite.com/s...non-responsive

I just bought 4k duo with additional dvb-c tuner. Too bad but I guess its time to upgrade.
I also had problem with IR receiver on Vuduo2. My Samsung plasma is producing some kind of interference and Duo2 remote barely works lol. I hope that with BT remote on 4k Duo this will be fixed.
