Installing Mgcamd on VIX Image Guide.

I changed from CC cam to MGcamd recently, but all the guides I read seemed incomplete or confusing.
i have complied a guide aimed at people like me (idiots) to try and help.
    I assume you have a working VU+ Solo2 box.
i assume you have a suitable FTP program to place files in the box.

    1) Download MGcamd 1.35a (I used this as users reported problems with other newer versions)
    2) Use FTP program to place .ipk file (Enigma2-plugin-cams-mgcamd.1.35a_1.0-r3_mipsel.ipk) into tmp folder
    3) Press blue button>VIX>Install local extensions - highlight it and OK.
    4) Install additional files mg_cfg and also newcamd.list files into var/keys
    5) Open var/keys/mg_cfg and insert your personal bits
    6) Reboot and all should be ok.

Don't forget to disable other cams and activate MGcamd in menu/setup/softcam C-I/softcam manager (or blue button/softcam manager)

files you should need are attached.

Hope it helps someone a lot of time that I spent learning/searching.

Why do people still use the very old mgcamd 1.35a.?
Mgcamd 1.38 is the latest and more reliable.

Hello all. Is there any reason 1.38 is not listed in the downloads section of openvix.co.uk?

Excuse my ignorance as a complete novice, by feeds, do you mean downloading within the software?

Depends in what context it is spoken. I am stopping using the term.

    A. feeds = Image's download server
    B. feeds = signal wire

    As examples,
    A: Install from the feeds.
B: How many feeds have you got connected to your receiver?

So when someone says "install from the feeds", it means
Menu > Plugins > Green button (download plugins) > select category (eg softcams) > select package (eg mgcamd) > Press OK
