It should not really make a difference as you'r going to have to initialize the drive through the image into a Linux format any way, but if it wont boot using NTFS try FAT32 instead.

Thanks i will bring it to a shop tomorrow to see if they will format it for me got nothing to connect it to me laptop
cheers thanks for ur help
You can try following... disconnect HDD power cable. Boot the receiver and then install ntfs drivers and then shut down. Connect HDD and then restart.
Already tryed that but also installed fat 32 so might uninstall both then reinstall ntfs drivers cheers if that doesnt work
is there any cables to buy to attach to laptop to format to fat 32
Not worth it for one time use, but even a sisused caddy will do.
Why not pop round to a friend's place with a PC?
Well used a polish pc shop alot for wires and so brought it to the bloke told him linux receiver
He said ext 3 so formatted works a treat never even charged me Lol THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE HELP

Glad you are sorted. Out of curiosity, do you know what format the drive was in?
Yeah it was in NTFS; thought there was only nfts and fat 32, the polish bloke just sorted it free thought he was gonna ask for a bottle vodka
