    Softcam install on Vu+Solo 2

Spent most of last night attemting to install a softcam to read my sky subscription card.

Following the instructions in this link http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...ghlight=boxkey
I used Filezilla to transfer the file below and created a ccCam file containing my hex box key which i also transferred.

    enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.3.0_1.0_mipsel.ipk

When i accessed my Softcam manager there was no softcam installed.I tried several times and gave up several hours.
I can see the files being transferred on Filezilla but have no idea what has happened to them. All my fta channels and epg are fine.
Anyone out there had similar problems and resolved it?

    Cheers guys

    Transfer enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.3.0_1.0_mipsel.ipk to /tmp/
Blue button -> ViX -> Install local extension

    Copy Cccam.cfg to /etc/
Blue button -> Softcam manager, yellow to start the cam & blue to enable it on start-up.

    Hi,
My config file is identical to the format below only 12 34 AB CD is replaced with my box number in hexadecimal.

    BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 12 34 AB CD
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 3570000

Hope this can shed some light on the issue?

I dont think i left a space between the each set of 2 box key digits-do you think this would make a difference as i have just re-read the instructions and it states note the spaces?

I was asking about name of the config file, not contents.

Both names given in posts 1 & 2 are incorrect. Linux s case sensitive.

Yes, that is what I meant. If that is the name you gave it, it is wrong.

You don't go into the softcam menu yet!,
You need to install the cccam ipk.

Do this by going in to vix menu, then install local extension.

Then you can go in softcam manager.

Ftp in to your receiver, check the following:

In /usr/softcams/ you have CCcam.x.x.x where the x represents version numbers
    in /etc/ you have CCcam.cfg

The config file is transferred by ftp.
The binary (program) is done by ftping ipk to /tmp/ and then installing as per few posts back.
