sounds complicated ha,right my setup is,vu solo2 in livingroom
spiderbox 9000 in my sons room on 2nd floor of house,by lan

any use,id like to achieve the best pic quality possible,so whats my best
and easiest option,thanks
could u lads recommend a hd reciever thats
simple to use and foesent cost the world
as i could put these in sll rooms,id buy more
spiderboxes but cant get hold of them anymore
thanks
It's not complicated: a (cheap) ViX-running STB (clientbox) in all (bed)rooms, connected via LAN (cable or homplug) to the STB in your living (server STB) will do fine.
Using the plugin RemoteStreamConvertor on all clientboxes allows the use of the tuner of the serverbox; recording made by the serverbox can also be watched.
This way you have a (relative) cheap HD-setup in all rooms.
A XP1000 could very well serve as client box, but any can do.

wow think im gona struggle here,so my vu solo would be the server
and all otherboxes are the client,do i need a line for each client or
would i use the server(solo) line,if this is right would i only be able to
watch what was being viewed on the solo or could each client watch there
own channel, think i may have got this wrong, what reciever would you
recommend as my client,thanks alot
Using a client box is the same as streaming for the serverbox.
In other words: as long as the stream requests fit in the actual state of the box (depending on tuner config, number of tuners, live-TV and recordings), a stream request will be honoured. The server box's activities always have precedence over stream requests.
An ideal server box would have an unlimited number of tuners, and be hidden in your cellar or so. In reality you'll have to estimate how often many conflicting requests would be there, and what you're willing to accept in this area.

i think i will just get a couple of hd recievers wich will
accept a c or n line and use homeplugs to set themup
i can get my head around that all that other stuff(servers)
is beyond me ha,been looking at a tm5402,are these anygood
and are they simple enough to use and setup, thanks
Any enigma2 based box will do. Although antiquated I still use partner box with dm800's and over homeplugs.
TP link 200mps (theoretical speed to each other) 100mps link ports. Can be had for under £30 for a pair and work amazingly well. I can stream a 20gb bluray over them no problem. I suggest buying homeplugs online and seeing how they work as there are a few caveats about how your house is wired etc and if no good you can send them back under distance selling act.
im already using tp link 500mbs homeplugs on my sons
spiderbox upstairs and they work perfectly im well impressed
so will be buying some more of them when i get my new recievers
why do you suggest an enigma2 reciever rather than something like
a spiderbox,i dont even understand what an enigma box is even tho ive
a solo2 ha
Were not talking about cardsharing here ( thats a topic we cant get into on this forum ).
Basically remotestreamconvert allows you to stream a tuner from the server box to the client box, including the EPG. This ties the host tuner up in the same way as a recording would.
