Apple Confirms iOS 5.0.1 May Not Have Fixed All iPhone Battery Issues

Apple released iOS 5.0.1 yesterday, which in addition to bringing multitouch features to iPad 1 and fixing the iPad 2 smart cover security flaw also included a number of bugs that was affecting battery life for some users.

Based on comments from some of our readers it looks like the iOS software update hasn't resolved the battery issues for all the users.

AllThingsD reports that Apple has also acknowledged that though iOS 5.0.1 fixes many of the iPhone battery issues, there may still be a few problems that need troubleshooting.

Apple’s iOS 5.0.1 update evidently addressed some, but not all of the battery issues troubling iPhone users. In a statement issued moments ago, the company acknowledged there may still be a few problems that need troubleshooting. “The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices,” the company said in a statement given to AllThingsD. “We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.”

Are you still observing poor battery life after upgrading to iOS 5.0.1? Let us know in the comments.
