    Howto? 2 satellites, I LNB

    Folks,
    I currently have a multiarm setup with a LNB at pointed at 9e and I'm wondering how to go about doing the merge Sats.xml edit I've heard about to allow reception of 10e on the same LNB?
    A friend who had this setup on a T90 was supposed to show me how to do it, but he has emigrated and can't remember how he actually set it up other than telling me google!
    So what I'm wondering is has anyone here managed to do this 'edit'?
    And if you have would you mind sharing the knowledge?
    Thanks
    Banie01

    never tried it my self but you can give this file a quick try and see if it works for you.
    bear in mind that i just nocked up this file in a couple of minutes so it may work it may not.

    make sure you back up your existing satellites.xml so you can go back to it.

    load the file, reboot the receiver then try and so a scan and see what happens.

    Well I just tried the modded .xml you did for me Pheonix(Thanks again BTW) and while the 9e transponders are booming in.
    I haven't got anything in from 10e but thats due to fact that its raining here and I haven't bothered tweaking the LNB yet
    As soon as it dries up I'll fiddle with the LNB and give a fuller report

    just spoke to some one on another forum who is using a T90 dish with a 16 lnb configuration from 28.2 east to 30 west.

    he said to leave the .xml as is and assign both locations 9.0 east and 10.0 east to the same lnb via the tuner setup page.

    you can try that and see if it works.

    Phoenix that .XML you've knocked up for worked a treat! And I'm just about to try the newest suggestion from you too
    Just out of curiousity, whats the best way to edit/merge the xml?
    I've tried via excel but I keep getting an error message regarding the .xml table when I try to save it.
    Thanks for all your help BTW.

    P.S When I assign the LNBs via advanced mode, how do I go about assigning the Sat>LNB config?
    Currently I have 6 lnbs into 2 4x1 switches in the following configuration Tuner A
    a = 13'
    b = 19.2'
    c = 28.2'
    d = 23.5'
    Tuner B
    a = 13'
    b = 15.8'
    c = 28.2'
    d = 9' How would this translate across to the advanced settings? Sorry about the noobishness of the question but I've never used any config other than switched diseqc.

    hi mate, i used notepad ++ to edit the .xml file. i edited the header then placed all the TP's from both locations into that.

    as for the rest, sorry thats not really my area so i'm not really sure how to go from there.

    Well I had no luck getting my LNBs working when I tried to use a standard .xml and assigning LNBs via the advanced tuner configuration.
    So I used your advice and edited the .xml in Notepad++ by merging sat positions and its a much easier method than faffing about with the advanced Tuner setup!
    Thanks again!

    Well getting 9e and 10e seems tricky for some reason.....
    But even without moving the LNB 7e comes in much stronger than 10e even with the LNB pointed at 9e(For me anyways)
    But I can pull in lots from 7e and 9e on the 1 LNB
    I was previously getting 422 services on 9e but after editing the sats.xml to merge 7e,9e and 10e and rescanning I'm up to 602 on that LNB with a lot of the stronger 7e tp's(bbc persia and others booming in)
    I may try tweak the LNB to point between the 2 and see what I can get.
    Then I can decide if its worth keeping this setup or just choosing 1 of the 2 between 7e and 9e.

    just remember to backup and keep a copy of your edited satellites.xml file as any update from
    Code:
    http://satellites-xml.eu/
    or a bouquet pack update will delete those edits.
