    Okay first thing we can try is change the frequency of the smargo lower it.
    Also do you have another box you can test the smargo on with the configuration you are using for oscam???

    Hello and good day,

    The smargo is set to auto but i have tried it on fixed frequency of 3.65 mhz and had the same result.

    Also i have tried my configuration on my old 7020 and again i had the same problem.

    Here is my config :

    Code:
    [reader]
    label      = skyuk
    protocol  = smargo
    device    = /dev/ttyUSB0
    blockemm-u = 0
    blockemm-s = 0
    blockemm-g = 1
    blockemm-unknown = 1
    group      = 2
    emmcache   = 1,3,2
    caid       = 0963
    ident      = 0963:000000
    boxid      = 00000000
    enable     = 1
    Thanks for any help.

    well, canthackit said that he had it working from smargo. Was that using oscam or just cccam canthackit? If from oscam, can you post your config to check that the OP has correct config?

    @ silverfox0786 setting the device as smartreader wont work, well it will work once but as the kernel is to old on these boxes when you stop oscam and restart it it does not close the USB port and reopen the USB port correctly.
    That configuration you posted is best for a box running debian or something similar where the kernel is 30 or higher.
    Also UNLESS you set the frequency when using mouse mode on the smargo itself it will give shit ecm times.
    What I would like the OP to try is the irdeto card in the smargo and see if that produces the same problem.
    The solution I posted above works both on my vu+duo and et9000 and trust me I tested both boxes for hours.
    One thing to check your smargos are geniune right???
    Also before you run any emu on the box reboot it and type dmesg from telnet and see if the FTDI device is mounted in the telnet output

    Hi friends,

    After doing a few of the suggested tests I am back with my report.
    1. I have tried Silverfox0786 settings with no luck i get a message reporting to recompile with smartreader support.

    2. Tried with irdeto card only in smargo and get the same result with nds card, also oscam crashes alot with only one card in smargo.

    3. Dont no if smargos are genuine or not but i do have 2 of them, and have the same problem with both (1 is actually an older model than the other).

    4. dmesg reports that FTDI drivers are up and running before emus.

    Thanks

    Have you tried downloading the latest version of oscam and replacing the one you are using with the latest version? Might be a problem with the version of oscam?

    Good day friends,

    I have tried older versions of oscam (4680, 4693) and when using smartreader protocol have had the same message (recompile with smartreader support).

    Is there a particular version that you can suggest to me to use ?

    Anyway thanks to all for there help i will be on a 2 week vacation away from my box so any further tests will have to be when i return.

    Again thanks to all.

    Hello friends,
    Just to let anyone interested know that i finally got the smargo to operate properly.
    This is what i did :
    1) Set smargo to fixed frequency (do not use auto), (mhz 369)
    2) In oscam.server file put protocol to mouse and add cardmhz to card frequency (for s@y uk card to 369)
    and mhz to smargo fixed frequency (mhz 369).
    3) Reboot machine.

    The cardmhz, mhz commands in oscam.server file are mandatory, it will not work without them.

    Thanks guys for all your previous help.
