    Woo hoo

    I've found something new to worry about.....

    My Windows PC has no Serial port.
    It runs this motherboard:

    Asus P5QL-E...

    So what would i do to use this?

    Usage of VU Utility

    Aaah it does have a COM header on the mobo so I'd need to find a COM port to Serial backplane thingy.....

    Hmm

    now that is something to worry about...

    After eading your post I downloaded the manual for your mobo and indeed it does have the comm 1 header
    I got back here only to find you already know that.
    Yes, just find port and plug it in

    mobo does have COM header but I have no serial backplane adaptor...and the PC is on a different floor from where the STB will be....so is there anything in this utility that cannot ne done via ftp/telnet ?
