DB 500 clone locked and flash problems

Hi I have an iBox which is a clone of a DB 500s from a previous supplier who has dissapeared off the planet. So I have tried to reflash it with a Null Modem cable and Dreamup but when I open Dreamup, and then click on connect then connect the power it is not recognised. I have new boxes I have recently flashed and I know there is no problem with Dreamup and the null modem cable. Could the old supplier have somehow disabled the com port? If so how on earth can I re flash this box to use it becasue I have tried all I know. Obviously I have no idea of the user and password so I cannot connect over the LAN, I cannot get into any menus as I do not know the user and password.

    Hopefully someone can help me.

    Thanks
    David

I doubt that the com port has been disabled,

does the unit boot up fully??

and if so, does the menu button work??

and from your post, it sounds to me, that the unit was sold to you, preconfiggerd, is this so??
    Units; VU+Ultimo/duo/DM800/7020HD/tm9100
    1.2 channel master/quad feedhorn/36volt /vbox
