    Enigma2 and IPTV problems

    Hi I have just started using a VU+ uno 4K with satellite pointing to Astra 2 28 and just started using IPTV. I organised the IPTV channels into bouquets using Jedi plugin. My problem is that when I press record button whilst watching IPTV channel after about 10 to 20 seconds enigma2 crashes and restarts enigma2 it keeps on doing this in a loop until you manage to switch to an non IPTV channel which is difficult as when enigma restarts it tries to continue the recording and stays tuned to the same channel. I know that the reason for this is that you can not record a channel and watch it at the same time as you need to have an IPTV subscription with 2 or more connections. What I would want to happen is that the software gives a warning about this and prompts you to do something else such as.
    Option 1 switch to a pre determined satellite channel.
    Option 2 switch to second IPTV subscription channel
    Option 3 switch to the movie player to watch the recording.
    Option 4 asks you to stop the recording.

    There are probably solutions available to prevent this and an option that I thought would work is to have 2 IPTV subscriptions but the system is not able to automatically switch to the second subscription. Any suggestions to make this setup work more reliably would be welcome. I am using the latest Openvix image 6.4.004

    You shouldn,t have a crash.
    Please post crash/debug logs …turn on debug by menu/setup/system/logs/settings ….enable, save not to flash, set local time, show in extensions.
    Then post here … you should already have a crash log…. Probably in /home/root/logs if debug not enabled.

    Also my understanding is that providers can allow a 2nd connection using the same account…..you just pay extra.

    @plascoch - thats really weird, its getting end of stream and then looks to restart(?) - not seen a crash in that (old) code before, so really would like to see a debug log as it might show more......

    I will enable debug tomorrow as I am busy today. I will do the same thing again it is very repeatable. On my system anytime I do anything with IPTV it crashes.

    I think I have found the cause of my problem. I modified the recordtimer.py as follows
    # Change line 383
    prep_res=self.record_service.prepare(self.Filename + self.record_service.getFilenameExtension(), self.begin, self.end, event_id, name.replace("\n", ""), description.replace("\n", ""), ' '.join(self.tags), bool(self.descramble), bool(self.record_ecm))

    #to
    prep_res=self.record_service.prepare(self.Filename + ".ts", self.begin, self.end, event_id, name.replace("\n", ""), description.replace("\n", ""), ' '.join(self.tags), bool(self.descramble), bool(self.record_ecm))

    #And change line 512
    open(self.Filename + self.record_service.getFilenameExtension(), "w").close()

    #to
    open(self.Filename + ".ts", "w").close()

    The reason for making the change is that I record programs connected to a TV in one room and wanted to view on the TV connected to the Vu+ uno 4k or the TV in the lounge. To view the program on lounge tv I use Plex and plex does not recognise .stream files as valid video files. I still am unsure why the default file type created when recording an IPTV channel is in a different format (.stream) to a program recoded from a satellite channel .ts. To me it would make sense that programs recorded from IPTV and satellite channels should be the same so that you can use a video playing application that can open any recorded program.

    See attached. With my config a 4097 stream will be recorded with the default extension.

    Hi Thanks for the guide on how to configure the recording format. I tried this but when I view recordings that are saved as type 1 the picture is blurred and pixelated it makes a 1080p video look like 180p and when people move I get a trail like a ghost of the person that is moving, totally unwatchable. I tried watching on VLC player and on plex same problem.

    Hi, I´m new to IPTV and after few weeks testing I was able to get running IPTV provider with EPG using Streamlineproxy and E2m3u2bouquet plugin. I had the issue with recorded programs for FWD/REV and found the answer on this forum, and manual renamed from .stream to .ts, and later on using the setting 4097 to 1 in ViX. However, FWD and REV still not working. Any idea or advice?
    I´m on 6.4.

    Think we use buttons on remote ,3 , 6 , 9 for forward and 1 , 4 , 7 for backwards for sat and cable recordings.

    ok, but this is not the solution... a working FWD/REV would be the solution.
