    old member revisiting

    Hi all

i havent been active here for several years since the good old days. Ive read the updated rules and understand no chat on C!ines etc. (i dont need to be reminded)

I have an Edision osMega gathering dust and wondering what i can do with it.

More importantly, and the reason for coming back, my aging parents still have old Edision osMini boxes on v5.0.032 being used for Freesat and with all the bbc channel upgrades recently they are bothering me about loosing their regionals and HD. they also have issues with narration on itv etc.

i`ll be trawling the Edision forum for latest images although i have no idea how long ago support was ended for these boxes. please be gentle with me as i start to regain knowledge

No, we don't build the OS Mini anymore, but you can build it yourself if necessary.

Nevertheless, you should be able to run ABM to rebuild your Freesat bouquets. on your current image.

There were bug fixes to ABM to deal with an issue with Freesat, so maybe that won't work. Unless somebody can get a python 2 version of ABM and undo the libc version requirements in the control file, he will be stuck.

Maybe flash an image that still builds for the box?

If there is a problem with the bouquets created he should be able to just use the current version of the Python files.

There was a change to the lib files in in Oct 2021. Will the current python files be fine using the lib files on 5.0 032?

I don't know. Last version bump was Aug 10, 2021. I have no idea how old 5.0 is.
