Some IPTV channels think they are radio channels

Can the thread if discussion on this aren’t allowed and apologies if that is the case.

I’m using Xstreamity plugin, everything works fine except that all the FHD channels since a few weeks ago briefly flash up the VIX radio splashscreen, displays a black screen and the audio plays. All the FHD channels do this, the HD and SD channels play fine.

Is there anything I can do to work out what the issue might be? The channels used to work but as I don’t frequently use them don’t really know when or what caused them to stop working.

Looking for any help and guidance.

Haven’t really had time to sit down and properly investigate but for the non working thinks it’s a radio channel the codec info is blank?

I'm on vix 5.4.012 and use, amongst other things, Jedi Maker Xstream (v6.12 from plugin feeds) to create bouquet list and for my FHD channels I get actual service name (ie BBC One FHD) and a more meaningful service ref...

So could this be either plugin issue or maybe stream provider? If you were to use same plugin as me to generate bouquet list on current version of Vix, does this resolve issue or does it still exist?

Edit: I do also have serviceapp installed and in fact also use ABM's feature of replacing some channels with streams instead. This allows full use of 7 day EPG and mixture of FTA satellite stream and internet stream.

Sounds like your FHD streams are HEVC & only viewable with a 4K compatible device

I don't know the ET ET10x00 series at all. But some boxes can boot in two modes called (on my Zgemma H7) PiP compatible and Kodi compatible.
On my Zgemma H7 in the kodi mode it is compatible with playback of many more stream and file formats than it is in PiP mode.
So, on my Zgemma H7, I have to do without PiP if I want good compatibility with playback of things that aren't off air DVB.
Probably this isn't relivant to the ET10x00 series at all but I thought I'd mention it anyway because I don't know.

The author of XStreamity had a look and confirmed that the FHD streams are HEVC which my et10000 can’t decode hence the black screen and audio only.

Not much that can be done but wanted to know why and now I know

Presumably due to a limitation in the particular chip used.
