Hi,
could anyone advise on what box I would need to record an HDMI input.
I'm aware some devices are able to do this and would be interested in other peoples experience.
The HDMI source I would like to use is a Roku stick.
Many thanks

I can record HDMI IN when connected to an Amazon Fire TV box and a fire stick on My Vu+ Uno 4K SE. I don't know about the Roku stick.
They are not the new 4K devices though and I think it only records in 720. (I haven't got 1080 eyesight any more anyway).
My Vu+ Duo 4K will only record video using the same devices, no audio.
Hi, thanks for your reply, shame about the audio. Is that the only E2 box capable of HDMI in?

The gigablue uhd 4K used to record video/audio - whether it still does is a question - and I don‘t have time to test at the moment

Hi,
HDMI in on all boxes seems to be more or less limited. If you really need HDMI recording look for so called game recorder with HDMI input. They are use to stream the video during a game.

I just tested HDMI IN on Vu+ Duo4K and Dreambox DM920, but both has limitations and I was not able to get good recordings without such problem (no audio, 720p limitation, broken recording parts....). So I solved this issue in a totally different way: just bought a good quality digital RF modulator. You must set very carefully all modulator parameters, then connect video source to modulator HDMI IN, and connect RF out to RF in of your box. Obviously you need a good product for this, but it works great.
