Play recordings made on a Topfield?

I am migrating from a Topfield recorder to an Xtrend recorder.
I have quite a few recordings copied from a Topfield to a network share.
I can see the files on my Xtrend, is there any way I can play them?

Is there a plugin to let the Xtrend play them? Do I need to convert them to a different format?

    thanks

You need to remove the small topfield header from them. A topfield .rec file is just the .ts (transport stream) file with an attached header. Your new box plays .ts files.

    See the following thread
    https://www.world-of-satellite.com/s...light=Topfield

which gives a link back to the Topfield forum where in turn it gives details on more than one method of removing the header (don't just necessarily pick the first method you find on the topfield posting)

If you also read the topfield forum posts in this thread
    Code:
    https://forum.toppy.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20627
perhaps reading from the last post backwards, I seem to remember that there may be other peoples experience for obtaining some of the meta data from Mystuff to transfer across (but possibly not necessary for your needs)
    Xtrend ET10K, 2 x satellite tuners 28.2 (Sky FTA), 2 x hybrid (UK Freeview), Zgemma H9S (satellite)
