    AV Settings 2160p black screen

I've been trying to set up 2160p on my receiver and every time I do this I get a black screen. on the display is say something on the lines of "is this image ok". then reverts back to 1080p

is this something to do with the tv setting, image or driver.

You don't say what TV you have...?

In my "office" setup everything goes through an Onkyo amp (cannot remember if its 2014 or 2015 model) but supposed to support hdcp 2.2 ..... needless to say I get a black screen on 2160.
If I connect either of my 4K receivers(sf4008 or HD51) direct to the 4K monitor its absolutely fine ... in either bootmode

Some Onkyo amps support HDCP 2.2 but it turned out they didn't support full HDMI 2.0 18gbps as was claimed / thought - only 15gbps, this could be the problem.
Early 4k Equipment is a minefield.

very true. in the early models of 4k. reading through forums a lot of people saying same. I suppose technology moves on very quickly.

the amps are only for sound quality not picture quality (could be wrong)

the picture is still great on 1080p and 1080i compared to solo2

LG 55 inch 4k tv bought over two years ago. I don't see any HDCP 2.2 on it and the HDMI port I 1.4.

the picture upscale on 1080i or p and looks good, byt cant get the 2160 to show up. this tells me that the tv is not HDCP 2.2 (I think)

You need to use a HDMI 2.0 port on your TV. Your TV may only have one and the others 1.4

HDCP 2.2 is irrelevant. As long as you have got a high speed HDMI cable(2.0) connected from your receiver direct to your 4k TV then it should work.

You had better tell the sponsor they are giving false information then...

I am confused over this. I need to ask WOS why they have put this. Why they are saying is that unless your TV has a help 2.2 input it will not work. Maybe I am misunderstanding something.

Anyway the original poster john doe is enquiring about the OCTAGON SF4008. I can't see anything about Hdcp 2.2 with this box.

I need to go away and read up again on what is Hdcp 2.2

when I bought my tv there was no HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0. I suppose manufacturers have had complaints from the consumer in regards to early 4k models not been able to show or play 4k media and over last couple of years have started to introduce HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 and soon HDMI 3.0 etc or whatever. in two more years they'll have something new as technology moves on.

agree, the sponsor should have put up a similar message for the octagon and other 4k receivers. the reseaon idid go for solo4 was the prices, but nothing on there about HDCP 2.2 & HDMI 2.0. however, I guess I should have done more research, but just didn't think at the time. thinking weather I should buy a new tv, or stick to the one I have as the picture is still top notch and not sure changing to a better tv will have any major change in 2160 plus there no 4k channels at moment. unless BBC or ITV get world cup in 4k, which they did a few back.

Your 4K receiver should have come with an HDMI 2.0 lead, you also need to use this, not the old ones you've been using on your other boxes etc. Checklist for you is A/ TV > Use HDMI 2.0 port & B/ 4K Skybox > Use HDMI 2.0 lead that came with it.
