    Kodi addons not opening

    Hi folks,

Just got the mega today - it is a brilliant box, so quick and hardware exceptional for the price.

Just installed kodi from the feeds and it looks cool. Added a few URLS in file manager to install from source so I can install some plugins. All works fine however when I go to the plugin and install, it says installed. i can't see it under video add ons - when i go back to the plugin it shows as installed but I can't open, option is greyed out. Any ideas?

PS i looked at the OPKG update post sicillian made - I did this but still the same.

    Thanks

**OK found the option to then go in a further install video add-ons , sorry not use to this version of Kodi i am still on the older GUI style**

Spend £27 quid for a basic Kodi box from Am@zon and it will be 10,000 times better than anything on an E2 satellite box. £37 if you want a BT keyboard.

Spend a bit more and get an even better Kodi experience on the Venz V10 Pro with LibreELEC installed. Blows AFTV away.

I don't know if Flyingpig & Andy_Hazza own an OSMEGA but I do and I can say that it runs Kodi without an issue.
I am a fan of the Paradox kodi build and with the common add-ons I haven't come across any failures .
There is no need to buy different devices when this receiver is designed to do what you bought the box for in the first place.

use a program called putty to telnet to your box using the box IP and password (default) root and then enter the two commands on the last post in the link above and all will be well with the world of Kodi

*** sorry you did that already ***

danlou i agree with you there the kodi plugin on the mega is fantastic i can't actually believe how well it runs compared to some of the other attempts iv seen on other boxes. i was setting this box up for a friend and i was really impressed with the features for the price. the triple tuner, the built in wifi which worked perfectly, the speed of the box booting and zapping as well as through the menus is the quickest iv seen. the only downside to the box is the remote in my opinion - feels like a very dated design. can't fault anything else though.

Agreed , the remote is the only let down as you have to be very close or line-of-sight for it to work perfectly.
Having said that I now have a harmony universal remote and all is well.

I am using Willo3092 backup of OpenVIX 4.2.030 and have installed mx3l-kodi from plugins/extensions. Immediately after installing I rebooted the box and once up and running again I used putty to telnet commands opkg update followed by opkg install python-pkgutils followed by another reboot to be on the safe side. Kodi works fine without any further changes my video resolution is set at 1080i 50hz in av settings, when in kodi resolution is 1280x720 which I have not attempted to change as it works absolutely fine. I have had a look in dream explorer and there is a kodi folder in my hdd, may be worth checking your hdd to make sure you have a kodi folder created there. I prefer to use my nvidia shield for kodi as it gives a better experience, as the osmega is designed to be an stb and not an android kodi box. Having said that the osmega seems to cope ok

It did it automatically no input required from me, if I use dream explorer go to hdd and look in kodi folder there are 5 folders inside addons, backupdir, media, system and userdata

Is there any more work being done on the Kodi plugin for OS Mega as when using a build (I've tried Plenty) there is always Skins and shortcut errors. Is anyone else having this problem? This is a great box fast startup easy to use good price, this is the only thin that lets it down Thanks Sinky

Its same for Vu+ receivers too not just OS Mega. Can't see a fix coming anytime soon either. Better off with a dedicated media box for Kodi.
