    Hard drive installation.

I have a 3.5 inch hard drive (5200rpm) form my vu duo. I have removed the 2.5 inch bracket it fits snugly in the space in the mutant.

I have made a small mount so it raised off the base to allow air to circulate round the Hd.

as the HD physically fits is there any other reason that I should not use a 3.5 inch drive over a 2.5 inch.

    Cheers
    Garry

Power requirements of the 3.5" drive may be higher.

It's mounted on rubber mounts so no vibration. It's ventilated above and below in the same space as the 2.5 sits. The mother board in the opposite half of the chassis. It's a 5200rpm HD from my old sky HD box so produces very little heat.

My only concern is the extra power it may use.

So to be on the safe I've ordered a 2.5 inch drive and removed the 3.5inch drive.

    Thanks for all advice guys
