Mgcamd works on solo4k and for someone new to the box the easy way is to install a back up image with it all ready working. Seems to be working ok on openblackhole.

Oh i'm all for setting up images from scratch but oscam can be a bit of a pain especially if someone is new to these box's. It was just my opinion that the quick way to get up and running is to install a back up image and then you can progress from there. Everyone to their own though.

In the Vu+ Solo 4K feeds for example you would only have access to the ARM based Oscam builds so no danger of installing the wrong one(s).

As I said had it sorted and it's not difficult after you get told what to do.

    -Download oscam from feeds
-Get the 4 files needed (google it) cccam to oscam converter is needed for one of them.
-FTP all the 4 files to etc/tuxbox/config folder
    -stop all cams, start oscam

    Hope it helps.

Hi Andy Hope this doesn't upset too much but I've been trying to get into OScam and keep hitting a brick wall!!! I'm totally confused with all this modern computer stuff and have screwed up so many Dreamboxes with the fatal "No CA error" (managed to get some of them working) that we are frightened to "trial and error" for fear of not having our favourite/expensive boxes not working. What I fined very strange is that you can now download all these Cams from the official web sites but when you try to get them to work you hit this "not allowed to talk about" problem - we are not all computer buffs and can do programming I'm afraid!!!
These comments are not sent to upset anyone but please mods you have to give us newbies/total idiots some slack and help or not make them available to us in the first place!!!!?
Great site with very many thanks from all - happy Xmas and New Year to ALL

The softcams are there to enable you to use your valid viewing card. You can own a valid viewing card for a subscription, but the cam can be locked to a particular device, the softcam allows you to use your valid subscription on a receiver of your choice.
Before we get all the snide yeah i bet no one has a valid subscription, you would be surprised how many do especially our European cousins and that is all the support you will get on this site.

As long as you don't deviate into cardsharing or line talk you will be OK as long as you stick to using your own card.
