    Multiple playlists?

Is it possible to have multiple playlists of media items? My collection of music is divided into itunes playlists according to composer and I would like to have a similar arrangement on my e2 box. I can only see the facility for 1 playlist. If I am wrong, I would appreciate instructions on how to do it.

In a future release it would be great if there was provision for pointing at a media item from a bouquet. The ability to combine cable channels, satellite channels and internet streams in the same bouquet is brilliant. An additional type of channel that could point to a media item on the hard disk would enable playlists to be made as bouquets. Although it's easy for me to suggest this, I've no idea how much work it would be to implement. Sorry if it is unrealistic.

@George Kildare - the easiest way to tackle the first part of your post is by creating directories (folders, in effect) within your media list.

When you access your root media files using your remote (you will have a button labelled MEDIA, or LIST, or both) press MENU. This will give you a set of options called 'Movie List Setup'. You can create directories, rename them etc. from there.

Note that you can create sub-directories by scrolling to the item you want to sub-divide, e.g. MOVIES and then press Menu and create a new directory (perhaps VIEWED MOVIES) or ACTION, DRAMA, THRILLER etc. you can 'nest' directories too, i.e. you create sub-sub folders, though I've never tried to find out how many times one can do this!

You can then use the 'Sort by' function (normally Blue button) which gives you various sort options.

Furthermore, once you have created all your required folders, you can 'point' any timer recordings you make to the folder where you want it to appear in your media list by creating bookmarks for each location. When you make a Timer Entry, scroll to Location and use the left/right cursor buttons to run through all the available bookmarks.

If the one you want doesn't appear (because you haven't created the bookmark), press OK when on Location and you will see a GUI screen 'Select location'. The lower screen is the bookmarks you have created, the upper screen shows target folders. To navigate between the screens use the Channel Up/Down buttons (could be different on your box though!). In the target folder screen, you can scroll to the folder you want (pressing OK will 'open' sub-folders), then 'Add bookmark' (Blue button).

Sorry if some of this is teaching you 'how to suck eggs', but I have no way of knowing how much you do know!

You will have to experiment a bit to get the result you want.

As for being able to do this from within a bouquet, it is possible to do so now, but it would require you to FTP into your box and create a custom bouquet. Although I have messed around in the past creating my own IPTV bouquets, I haven't tried to do what you are describing, so can't help on that score. No doubt someone out there will give you some advice!

    Good luck!

You can use dreamboxedit to create groups of bouquets
