Question How can I transfer .ts recording to exterbal USB NTFS drive

    Hi,
I have set up my ET8500 with external USB hardrive for recording which was initialised by the PVR. This I assume formats the drive to Linux standard.
How do I connect another USB drive formatted to NTFS so I can transfer my .ts file recordings to this drive so I can play it on other devices?

The problem is the ET8500 will only recognise USB drives that are formatted to Linux standard?
I have tried the move option in the media section of this unit but it will not detect my other NTFS usb drive to to transfers onto?

I have tried installing EXT.2fsd on my laptop and connecting the linux formatted USB drive to the laptop but still can not get access to files, the software just freezes?

I have set up samba, but not sure how to use it?
I have tried connecting the hard drive on an android media player and it plays the HD recordings but with a lot of stutter and audio delay too?

If you've installed Samba browse to the share on PC network, drag and drop from receiver to PC HDD.

Thanks - With bit of trial and error I have managed to do it from the box with out FTP software etc. I enabled samba and FTP on the box then went down to plugins and used option to scan media.

I then selected media and had the option to move and select my NTFS USB drive to transfer to.

Looks like you have sorted it. For benefit of other users....

Most devices will use fat32 devices without issue. However, fat32 has a filesize limitation of 4GB. The image handles fat32 devices natively.

If you want to use NTFS drives on receiver, you must install the drivers.
    Menu > Plugins > Green ( Download Plugins) > Drivers > Select ntfs-3g > Press OK

Many thanks I will do that.

Does that mean that an internal hard Drive can be NTFS as well?

For downloading drivers, can't find ntfs 3g?

I was hoping at the same time to look for VLC plug too, could not find that either?

Are you sure you have not installed it already. Plugins that are already installed are not shown.

Take a picture or screenshot of the menu you are in and upload it.

Does the same file play fine on the ET8500?
