The channels have downloaded now and all is well, I think, although the message "tune failed" did appear on the screen.
On the box display it shows "A" but not "B". Is that correct? Or should I do a scan for tuner "B" as well.

I'm not sure if the lead to Port B is live. If not, is there a workaround such as a splitter?

    OK. Thanks.
Is Port B useless if it is receiving no signal? Or can I set it to do something?

If the lcd display shows A in white and not B then it means A is in use and B is free.
If you select say BBC1 and then go to main menu/Setup/Service searching/Signal finder

Then you can switch between the tuners by selecting tuner and switching between A and B
    What does it show??
    Gigablue Quad 4K & UE 4K
    .........FBC Tuners:
    ------------------> GT-Sat unicable LNB to 1.5M dish(28.2E)
------------------> Gigablue unicable LNB to 80 cm dish(19.2E)
    .......................> FBC & DVB-S2X into 90cm dish (27.5W) Opticum robust Unicable LNB
    AX HD61, Edision Osmio 4K+, Zgemma H9Combo, Octagon SF8008 , gbtrio4k, h9se using unicable ports
    Zgemma H9 C/S into Giga4K

@twol. if you want him to check signal, just get him to out tuner config to simple, single, auto. If it locks, it will return 28.2.

as twin feeds are used for 28.2 you only need 1 good scan for both ,by any chance do you have other tuners fitted in rear of box and you noted the position of A - D?

If I record BBC1 no other channels are available.
A and B both show as red in the display. (Tune failed shows on TV)

Can tuner B be used for anything? Or do I need to get a satellite signal to it?

Plug your first feed into tuner a. Tryto view a channel. Now remove that feed from tuner a, and plug the othe feed to tuner a. Is it possible to wstch a channel in both cases?
