if you set a timer or autotimer for box to record on 2 channels on 2 tps you are not allowed to view any other channel,red button scroll down you will see list greyed out=no entry,others not greyed out can be viewed because there on same tp as channels recorded.

I'm guessing you are using CCcam. If so, you need version 2.30 in order to decode two or more channels simultaneously.

I was recording 2 programmes at the same time
I've deleted 1 recording and now I can view on the other.

no confusion at all on your new toy and wondered why a blank screen,remember you can view the recordings on hdd while your box records the other 2 channels.
