    Hi Andy,

I've got the new image up and running. And even managed to get XBMC running. BUT. I don't suppose you know how to play the films from my NAS from XBMC do you?
    I found this.......

Do not use this thread for support. Only tips and pointers on how to use the plugin

    1) Build 142+ fresh flash and restore is required.
    2) To playback local media I found you need to add files via Root. Video > files > add videos > root filesystem > navigate to folder and click ok.
    3) Mount network drives via SMB or NFS through XBMC will not work. You will see thumbnails, media details etc, but will not playback. You must add the network mount in Enigma 2, then use method 2 above to add your media folders.
Have mounted from NFS, but as he says the files won't play.

But, to be honest, I haven't got a clue what he means

    Cheers,

    Keith.

Hi Keith, have you installed Samba/NFS? Doesn't come preinstalled anymore so you will need to look in the Network part and install.

    Hi Andy,

Wish I'd left it alone now. I've clearly bitten off more than I can chew. This is exactly why I don't update, if it ain't broke................
I saw kodi working on a firestick and was just trying to pretty up the way the films appeared on the Solo2, with a sypnopsis etc.
Also the kodi managed to show photographs the right way round unlike the old Solo2.
I don't recall installing Samba/NFS today so guess I can't of. Then again I have no idea how to

    Cheers,

    Keith.

Press menu, setup, system, network and you will have some options. NFS setup/Samba Setup, you will need to install one or the other, depending on which one. Installing both wouldn't hurt. Then I would restart your receiver n then go back into the network and go into the Mounts setup.

    Regards,

    Sorry Guys,

I can't even do that!! When I try to I just get this message....
"a background update check is in progress please check back in a few minutes"
I've turned off updates under software update settings and re booted but still no joy.
And this was like this last night and this morning

    Guess I'll gorge on chocolate

Should I have said, the NAS is mounted already. I am able to play the movies just through the file browser on the Solo2.
I can see the files from the XBMC plug in but they won't actually play. Just like Sicilian said in his post.
What I don't understand is what he is saying in this bit....

    Cheers,
