Use the latest one. They have the date in the name.

You don't have to flash bootloader unless a differnt one to the one you have has been released.

My ET10k nearly (but not) always waits 60 seconds displaying ET10000 before actually booting.

It's as if it has detected a usb stick, and is waiting for confirmation to flash. Then it boots ok.

As far as I can tell, there is no way of checking the bootloader version?

The motherboard is dated older than the latest loader ,(the box is only 3 months "old") so is it likely that the loader is out of date?

So It will be this one then?
    et8000-cfe-20140821.zip

On xtrend official site this is the latest bootloader.(which is the same one as on here) Could I be certain that is the one that is on the box?
    Software ET8000 Bootloader 2014-08-21
    New Bootloader for Xtrend ET8000.
This version increase the limit of the bootloader to 200MB.
So an image for ET8000 not exceeding 200MB can be flashed on the ET8000.
    Download
    Instruction

    1. Download the zip file from the Download link above.

    2. Unzip and copy + paste the et8000 folder on to your USB Stick

    3. Insert USB Stick to your ET8000.

    4. When you see the message "Flash Image?" on your front display, press the CH 'down' key (instead of the 'up' key which you would normally use to flash an image).

    Yes.

Format is: year month date. So in that example

    year: 2014
    month: 08
    date: 21

The other file is from February
