    Recording problem.

Is there a way to stop the box from recording every instance of a program? i have set a box up for a mate and left it with them The box was set to record emmerdale and it has recorded every instance on every station. he lives quite a distance away so i can't just pop over and see what's happening. I'm not familiar with controlling someones else box remotely (any tutorials?).

If you use Teamviewer, you can use the web interface on other person's PC to control receiver.

    Reduce time span and channels.

Do you mean the time the box records before and after the program. Reduce channels, How?
