    exterbal hard drive for recording

    I've always used a 3.5 inch external drive along with my by solo. Never use 2.5 or flash pen as they have no dedicated power. I've noticed lately things are a bit sluggish, especially downloading epg, I put this down to the hard drive not the solo.

    Does it matter what type of hard drive and enclosure is bought. I am going to order a western digital green 3.5 160gb drive with Cic external enclosure...

    2.5 or 3.5 will make NO difference performance_wise for USB (both suck)

    Just one thing, sure its not the receiver that's sluggish? when was the last time you did a fresh install?

    Might be time for an upgrade?

    It has latest Apollo build, I put it down to drive as I tried one drive, EPG froze up, tried another drive and it was better...
